About Me

I hold a commercial pilot licence and I have been working in aviation since 1998.  First, I was a part-time flight instructor, but then in 2000 I became an inspector for the Icelandic Civil Aviation Authority (ICAA).  As an inspector for the ICAA, I performed audits on the Icelandic Operators, including reviewing their manuals.  I was the ICAA specialist regarding Dangerous Goods and the SAFA coordinator for Iceland.  In 2007, I took one year leave from ICAA, to join City Star Airlines as Director Flight Operations (nominated person).  City Star Airlines operated between Scotland and Norway on Dornier 328.  In 2013, I left ICAA and became Manager Audits at Air Atlanta Icelandic.  As Manager Audits, I was the deputy for Director Quality Assurance and was responsible for audit schedules, as well as preparing, performing and following-up the audits and inspections.  At the same time, I was the Quality Manager for Geirfugl Flight School for two years.  In 2013, I was asked to join WOW air and be part of the team that worked to apply for AOC and CAMO certificates, including writing part of the relevant manuals.  At the same time, I was hired to be Director Flight Safety and Compliance Monitoring (Quality Assurance) for both approvals, as well as Part-145 Organisation approval which was obtained in 2017.  WOW air ceased operation in March 2019 and following that, I founded "Glacier Aviation Consulting".
